  Scott Shepard Bio

Scott Shepard, born and raised in St. Louis, received his BSEE from Tulane University in New Orleans in 1988.  While at Tulane, he specialized in digital technology and electro-acoustics, knowing that he wanted his career to focus on facilitating communication and storytelling.

Once out of school, he took on independent projects in acoustical and AV engineering, eventually returning to St. Louis to take a position as Acoustical Engineer with Engineering Dynamics International.  Three years later, he began taking independent projects again, designing acoustical, audio and video systems for houses of worship and performance centers.  Meanwhile he was back in school at Webster University for a graduate degree in Media, where he learned the production and creative side of audio under Barry Hufker and Bill Porter.

While Shepard eventually joined Webster's adjunct faculty teaching Audio Production, he was hired away by Walt Disney Imagineering just prior to completing his degree.

At WDI he learned to use his talents at the feet of master storytellers. Shepard started at WDI in 1996 as AV Engineer and worked on E- and Super E- ticket attractions in Orlando and Tokyo before leaving in 2001 to found Kuma Sonics.

Since 2001, Shepard has applied his experience, creativity and technical ability to diverse attractions around the world -- Bavaria, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Manila, Seoul -- and across the US.
